Yuck

Last week I worked 79 hours.  The week before I worked 73.  Still within the "legal" hour limits but definitely outside of my "ideal".

Today I finally had off and Bry and I went to Church. Then we cleaned up the house a bit and dropped my cousin off at the airport.  His grandmother recently died and I had the chance to know her fairly well over the past 10 years - she will be missed.

Then we found our new secret obsession - White Trash Documentaries.  By this I mean Swamp People and The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia.  We have both developed mild Southern twangs and are craving some alligator - or just alcohol and prescription drugs.  Very classy way to spend the afternoon, I must say.

Tomorrow I got back to work and Bry will have the day off to do whatever he'll do when I'm not home.  It's not knitting - my works in progress are never changed when I get home to them.

Today I did finish one hat - the Happy Birthday hat by Susan B. Anderson in pink and white - a commissioned piece for a friend.  Photos to follow.

Next week we will celebrate our 3rd Wedding Anniversary.  We have been following the traditional anniversary gifts for the past 2 years.  This year is Leather.  While I had some unmentionable ideas for what to buy Bry  - I think I've hit on a good idea.  I am open to suggestions, however.... Leave your best ideas for me below.
(P.S. Who took time to think of a 90th anniversary gift?  And is STONE meant to mean "TOMBSTONE"????)

Struggling

It's going to be a rough 4 months of inpatient medicine.
To top it off I'm starting with Peds - not my favorite at all.  I really don't like sick kids.

Also not going to be too much knitting going on.  We'll see.

Hope your spring is going well and you (at least) get to enjoy the outdoors.

Bry and I celebrated Cinco de Mayo last night in proper fashion - after 13 hours of work for both of us and we didn't get home until 10:00pm.  We needed the margarita though!

It's a rough stretch here for both of our jobs - really considering dropping everything and running off to a foreign country.  And working at MacDonald's.  Bry's going to have to start taking the keys away from me - last night we were on the freeway and I nearly just kept driving to Mexico.  Beginning to think Medicine is not the best thing for me.  I've thought it before but now I'm just miserable.  It's hard to do something you don't like for 13 hours a day.  Then again, I keep reminding myself that I am not enslaved in the Corsican salt mines.  But they probably don't have HIPAA and Wisconsin Department of Regulations and Licensing, and Resident Duty Hours there.  Not looking too bad now, huh?

How far is Corsica?
